Asparagus Soup

Here are the ingredients:

1 onion diced
1-2 garlic cloves minced
1 russet potatoe diced
1 lb Asparagus
1 1/2 Qt chicken broth
dash of salt and pepper
pinch of red pepper flakes
1 tsp curry powder

Here is how to make it:

saute onions and garlic with a little olive oil untill tender 5-8 mins
add potatoe, asparagus, half chicken broth, s/p, and red pepper flakes bring to boil and then simmer for 15-20 mins adding the rest of broth as needed for desired thickness. Remove from heat and pour into blender(be careful as hot things in blender can splatter. I like to put a towel over the blender just in case)Pour back into pot

Add Curry powder and serve with a dallup of sour cream

ps I got this recipe from P90X it is slighlty modified

I'm not just Lucky!!!

So I get this a lot. People ask me if I am getting any sleep at all. In fact it's almost always the first question I get when I tell people I have 12 week old twins. They always have a concerned look in their faces like oh this poor new mom must be so sleep deprived. It is always astounishing for them to hear my response, which is... "Actually the girls sleep through the night and they have been since they were 7 weeks". The funniest part is the next phrase that comes from them ( them being half the people I talk to). "You are so lucky".
Really it has nothing to do with Luck. Personnally I don't really believe in it so it would be the last thing I would consider. The truth of the matter is that Ben and I have worked hard and diligently since the girls were born to get them on a good schedule. Not only that but in my household we really like our sleep! Especially me! So our big goal from the beginning was to figure out how to help our children to sleep. I think the girls are happier throughout the day because they get lots of sleep at night. They probably have a little of their momma in them too. So I just wanted to clarify that I am not really a lucky person I just believe in getting some sleep :)

My first blog ever

Ok so I am an amatuer but here I go... Welcome to my blog I am glad you are joining me. I don't know that I will have much interesting to say but I figured I would give this blogging thing a shot. Not that I don't have enough to do at home in the way of cleaning the house but to avoid all of that I would rather be checking my facebook, catching up with old friends, and trying out the blog thing! So i have been a mom now for 12 weeks and I LOVE it. Don't get me wrong though there are many challenges with caring for twins. The minute I get one down for a nap the other wakes up that is usually my day! But I am grateful to have two beautiful blessing to stare at all day long! I still have moments when I wonder how this all happened! I will have to tell the story of that one day! Anyways so I will be a stay at home Mom starting the first of the year and I am so excited to be priviledged to be raising my girls! As many people say this will be the hardest but most rewarding job I will ever have. I am up for the challenge! I did pray for this. Anyways I feel like I am rambling so I will stop for now. Much more to come...again thanks for joining me!
